Bishop Shelby is the founder of Anchor Church which was formerly known as Sarasota Family Worship Center. Bishop Shelby and wife Carol felt the call to come and start a new church in Sarasota in 1993. After much prayer the Shelbys resigned from the church in Chicago and loaded everything they owned and came to Sarasota where they knew no one. The Lord blessed and provided a building and people who were dedicated to working for the Lord. In 25 years the church, Family Worship Center, has had many families come and receive salvation and healing for their spirit and souls. Bishop Shelby has also served as the Florida District Superintendant for the Assemblies of the Lord Jesus Christ for a number of years.

Our Spanish Ministry is lead by Angel and Maria Romero.  Each service is bilingual in worship, with songs in english and spanish and all the preaching is translated into Spanish every service.    Another aspect of our Spanish ministry is we offer home bible studies in spanish.  If you would like more information about our Spanish ministries you can contact the church at (941) 359-3400.
